Yanni Tour

Facts about Yanni and Yanni Tours

• Amazingly, Yanni is a self-taught musician.  After receiving a degree from the University of Minnesota, he decided to pursue a career in music, despite the fact that he had no formal training and could not read music. 
• In the late 90s, Yanni became one of the only performers allowed to play in the Taj Mahal.  
• Yanni has had lots of success touring.  In fact, in 2004, Billboard ranked the Yanni tour as the fourth biggest tour of the year.  Additionally, the Yanni tours of ‘95, ‘98 and ‘03-’05 all ranked in the top ten tours of the year.  (If you’re looking for Yanni tickets for the 2009 tour, please see above). 
• Yanni’s real name is Yiannis Hrysomallis and he was born in Greece.  He came to the U.S. to attend the University of Minnesota at age 18.
