Facts about Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Tran-Siberian Orchestra Concerts
- The name, “Trans-Siberian Orchestra” is inspired by the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia, which connects otherwise isolated cultures and populations – just like music does.
- The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is based in New York City. However, the band frequently tours worldwide and brings their music to obscure areas.
- Thus far, the only non-Christmas album for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is Beethoven’s Last Night, which is about Beethoven’s hypothetical last night on earth, where he meets Mephistopheles, Fate and Twist. In addition to this album, TSO plans to release another non-Christmas album called, Nightcastle.
- TSO’s 2005 tour was ranked #21 on the most successful tours of the year list. It pulled in over $21 million.
- TSO’s concerts are known for pyrotechnics, lasers and lights that move in sync with the music.
