Trivia About Death Cab for Cutie and DCFC Concerts
- The name “Death Cab for Cutie” comes form the title of a song that the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band performed in Magical Mystery Tour, the 1967 Beatles movie.
- DCFC formed at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. As a result, lyrics from many of their songs, particularly their early songs, reference that local area.
- Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard is also part of a band called, “The Postal Service.” The Postal Service is a collaboration between Gibbard and electronic music artist, Jimmy Tamborello (a.k.a. Dntel). The band is called The Postal Service because of the way Gibbard and Tamborello would collaborate – Dntel would write and perform instrumental tracks and then send the tapes (via U.S. Postal Service) to Gibbard, who would edit them and add his own vocals.
