- The name “Duran Duran” comes from the villain, “Dr. Durand Durand,” from the science fiction film, Barbarella.
- In 2003, Duran Duran did a few 25th Anniversary concerts. Duran Duran tickets for these shows sold out in minutes. (You can get tickets for Duran Duran’s current tour by purchasing them above).
- Duran Duran’s single, “Girls on Film,” created a lot of controversy. The video featured topless women mud wrestling and pillow fighting. The video was ultimately banned by the BBC and was drastically edited for MTV audiences.
- In 1986, Duran Duran lost two of their members. The first was drummer Roger Taylor, who had suffered exhaustion from the extensive Duran Duran tours. The second member was guitarist Andy Taylor, who did not come back to the band after singing a solo recording contract.
