Jamie Foxx’s real name is Eric Marlon Bishop. He changed his name to “Jamie Foxx” after realizing that female comedians tended to be called first to perform. He thought the name “Jamie Foxx” was ambiguous enough to prevent gender bias on the comedy circuit.
