• Gerard Alessandrini is the creator of the Forbidden Broadway shows.  As an unemployed actor in the 1980s, he created the show because he wanted to showcase his talents.  He did so by assembling musical parodies of Broadway shows he’d written since childhood.  
• Forbidden Broadway has become known for featuring talented but as yet undiscovered actors, who eventually achieve stardom on Broadway, television and movies. For example, Jason Alexander and Bryan Batt (of AMC’s Mad Men) are both Forbidden Broadway alumni.
